What is Cyclelosophy?
You may be wondering why we set-up CircuitCycles, specialising in Electric bikes? The short answer is that we want people to start using them because they are going to make a marked difference in our society. That difference arises in areas such as;
• Social and Health.
• Environmental.
• Economical.
So then you may wonder to yourself “why electric bikes – why not just the ordinary bike?” A perfectly logical question, with the deduction being you get the same societal benefits without the higher costs or any dependencies on external power. While we would love this to be happen, the reality is not everyone will cycle a traditional bike. The most recent statistics from the Dublin Transportation Office would show that approximately 35% of Dublin car commuters will not cycle because their journey is too far and they don’t feel up to it.
Now those 35% of car commuters in Dublin can cycle because of the electric bike. If just 10% of these commuters alone changed to the Electric bikes we estimate;
• 2700 less sick days, saving an estimated €430,000.
• 3500 Tonnes of CO2 eliminated annually.
• Reduced congestion and stress saving millions annually.
It’s not just commuting that will give rise to societal benefits but older people can benefit through enjoyable exercise and potentially reducing social isolation, particularly in rural areas. Other areas that will derive benefit are the Tourism and leisure Industry. Many of the spectacular views of our coastline and countryside can only be appreciated cycling, and using electric bikes makes these very accessible.
We are here because we care, and we are committed to making a change. We have great products and we are passionate about our service. However, we cannot do this alone, changing to the cycling levels of the Dutch for example will require investment, the courage to change and a commitment by all, – from the Politician to the Citizen.
Help us define Cyclelosophy!

We want a community built mission statement that is bigger than CircuitCycles, it takes in all of what cycling should mean in Ireland and how we can make the changes. If we have critial mass and sufficient submissions we will offer a small reward for the best definition and so we invite everyone to make a difference- go to our Town square and post your thoughts now! At the end of this we have a will and purpose that all of us can use to drive change – The Politician to the Citizen.
Thanks!
